The Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s Community Outreach Department offers a large variety of comprehensive children’s and adult programs throughout southern Arizona. The goal of the community outreach department is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals, educate the community on local and national animal welfare issues such as overpopulation, all through preventative humane education and community outreach.    Humane Education   Through a variety of school-based programs and community outreach, our team of humane educators reaches people all over southern Arizona.  We have children’s programs for kids as young as 3rd grade.  Our school-based programs bring humane education right into the classroom, providing interactive lessons on everything from the Humane Society’s mission and services, basic pet care to animal cruelty prevention.              HOW TO APPLY FOR OUR FREE COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES: Every year, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s Community Outreach Department provides programs and presentations to thousands of individuals. The vast majority of these programs, including all our school-based outreach, are offered free-of-charge but do require a high level of commitment and organization from the participants. In order to spread our limited resources as judiciously as possible, we are asking all interested individuals to first complete a simple on-line application. This application process will help us assess which schools / organizations are best suited for our intensive programs. The application process takes about five minutes to complete. You will be contacted within the next few days as to the status of your application. Please be aware that we will not be able to accommodate all requests due to staff, time and resource limitations. Speakers Bureau

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona provides informative and inspirational talks for civic groups, businesses or professional associations, senior organizations or other service organizations. Our Speakers Bureau is just another part of your HSSA reaching out in the community. Although our programs are free, we greatly appreciate your support of our homeless animals through suggested donations for presentations.
