OUTREACH AND KID’S EVENTS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED:

Due to staffing issues beyond our control, HSSA is temporarily suspending all our community outreach programs, Hand-in-Paw (HIP) Kids Club activities and special events.  If you are a member of HIP, you will receive a copy of the Scratching Post newsletter soon which will contain details on how your membership will be extended in order to compensate you for this temporary change in service.

HSSA hopes to resume normal operations of all programs in the New Year and we would invite you to check back at that time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support and understanding.

Hand In Paw Club 2
Not only does your membership give you the chance to make a difference for homeless animals, but it also provides you with fun monthly activities, volunteer opportunities, summer camps and special events for you and other kids from all over our community!

Our members participate in numerous exciting and fun activities, like ice cream socials for dogs, exploring animal habitats from around the world, building bird feeders, attending animal grooming classes, or participating in a variety of fun, social activities with other H.I.P. members that help raise awareness about the needs of both wild and domesticated animals. H.I.P. holds events and educational opportunities throughout the year! These events are held outside of regular school hours so members can participate all year round!

Once you are signed up, you will receive quarterly event calendars and electronic updates to keep you informed on all the H.I.P. opportunities. All of these events are either free or low-cost to members. You can also access our events schedule by phone or visiting this website.

Throughout the year, H.I.P. also offers a wide selection of animal welfare information fairs, summer programs including a month-long daycamp, and fundraising events to benefit the Humane Society’s numerous program that aid animals in need. You’ll have fun while learning how to create a better and safer world for everyone regardless of their species.

For H.I.P. members who are 12 years or older, there is also the opportunity to become a Humane Society Youth Intern. Applicants must actively participate in H.I.P. events for a minimum of six months before submitting their intern application. Contact us directly if you would like more information on this exciting volunteer opportunity. The Hand-In-Paw Kids Club is the best opportunity in town for compassionate, caring kids who want to make a difference in the lives of Arizona’s abused and neglected animals.

For more information about Hand-In-Paw Club memberships please phone our Education Department at 520.321.3704, ext. 142 or contact us via email.
