The HSSA and the Southern Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) have teamed up to increase awareness and public education on topics affecting the health and welfare of animals.

SAVMA, the professional organization for all Southern Arizona veterinarians, vet technicians and related professionals, provides a variety of programs to the public, including low-cost spay and neutering, education, and special events.

Along with HSSA, SAVMA is also an active participant in the Animal Cruelty Taskforce, an innovative community-wide collaboration of professionals that provides uniform standards of investigation and prosecution for acts of animal cruelty.
