Whether this is the result of a natural death, accident, illness, your
decision to euthanize, or its disappearance, the feelings you have can
seem overwhelming. Know that your feelings are natural, as painful as
they may be.
In our culture, when a pet dies there are some who may not understand
that this loss is as painful as when a human dies. In some cases, it
is worse. To experience the sweet and deep love possible between a person
and a companion animal is a gift. With this gift of strong love comes
a corresponding response of strong grief. It is nothing to be ashamed
of.
HSSA volunteer Renee Terry facilitates the support group every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month. Please call Renee at 520.603.8319 to register for the group.
