The Education and Cruelty Prevention Department also offers a variety of specialty programs for children outside of our regular kids club and school presentations.  Please see the descriptions and contact information below.

· Juvenile Animal Cruelty Awareness Program >

The Juvenile Animal Cruelty Awareness Program is a two-hour educational opportunity designed for juveniles who have been identified as animal abusers.  The program is designed to help young people understand the forms of and motivations for animal cruelty; to provide them with useful animal care information which they can apply to their pets at home; and to fully understand the legal consequences for those charged with crimes against animals. The program utilizes video presentations, classroom projects and workbooks, and frank conversations about the subject in the hope of helping the juvenile refrain from offending again.

For more information on this program, contact Jami McDowell, Cruelty Prevention Coordinator at 520.881.7404 or via email.

· After-School & Extracurricular Programs >

The Education & Cruelty Prevention Department offers much more than school-based programs.  Throughout the year, kids from all over our community can take advantage of our fun, educational programs and events. All of these programs are held outside regular school hours at one of the three Humane Society locations and all are free or low-cost. Programs change throughout the year, so we encourage you to contact us directly for a current listing of upcoming opportunities.

For more information, contact Pennie Liebig at 520.881.7406 or via email.
