Do you know the main reasons to adopt a pet?

1. When you adopt a pet from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, you're saving lives. You're making it possible for us to rescue another dog or cat for adoption plus you’re allowing other dogs and cats at the shelter to be kept longer.
2. When you adopt from the HSSA, you’ll save money.  Adopting our dogs and cats is much less expensive than buying a pet at a pet store. In addition, our animals are already spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
3. When you adopt from the HSSA, you’ll feel better. Especially shelter pets will give you unconditional love and animals have been shown to be psychologically, emotionally, and physically beneficial.
4. When you adopt from the HSSA, you won’t be supporting puppy mills and pet stores. Nearly all dogs raised in puppy mills are housed in dreadfully poor conditions with almost no medical care, and the puppy mill puppies are sold to unwary customers in pet stores.

When you open your home and your heart to a shelter pet, you are getting a great companion. Shelter dogs and cats will show their appreciation for the rest of their life!
